The 713/714 is an elegant and essential table designed by Theodore Waddel in 1973 for the italian firm Cassina. It has a polished chromium plated steel structure with a 12 mm. (0.5") thickness and with bevelled edge under the top, available in Crystal glass finish. The main feature of this table is definitely its lightness, result of Theodore Waddell intensive work to make a piece of furniture that was able to stand up by cables. The legs, support the glass plate not touching the floor, while the other three, on reverse, touch the ground without touching the top. The legs work as a kind of compression elements (struts), separated by tie rods and never connected to each other.
