We receive ex-display items from commercial vendors and are offered furniture from some of the country’s finest private homes. Just because it doesn’t work in your home doesn’t mean someone else won’t be thrilled with it in theirs.
HFOC operates primarily as an online marketplace to provide the best value to our clients. However, we do offer scheduled appointments for specific items. Please contact our team to arrange a viewing of a particular piece.
We offer a white-glove, end-to-end service. Simply submit your items via our website form for evaluation. If suitable for consignment, we'll schedule an inspection appointment, agree on pricing in writing, and email you a contract for signature. Once the terms are accepted, we handle everything—photography, marketing, storage, and delivery. It's a seamless way to sell luxury furniture without the hassle of managing public marketplaces yourself.
To be saleable in our curated online marketplace, the merchandise must be in good to like-new condition. On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the best, we look for pieces rated 8 or higher.
Once an item is accepted for consignment, an appointment is arranged, whenever possible, for our product specialists to capture high-resolution in situ photos suitable for our website, social media and other marketing.
We arrange all logistics with our selected professional removalists. Items must be professionally cleaned before listing—we can recommend trusted vendors if needed. Once we've found a buyer, we coordinate collection and delivery of your furniture to its new home.
Whilst our logistics hub is in Alexandria, Sydney, we regularly arrange professional, high-care transport to Melbourne, Brisbane, and beyond. We ensure delicate pieces—glass tables, modular sofas, and more—arrive in impeccable condition.
Our pricing formula takes into account the condition, quality of construction, manufacturer, original purchase price, style, colour and demand for the item.
Priced too high, the item won’t sell. Priced too low, it is unfair to the consignment vendor. Our experience and knowledge of the market help us price fairly for both buyers and sellers.
We are experts in the online resale business. Our pricing reflects current market trends and resale standards. Competitive pricing is in both our consignor’s and our shop’s best interests and discourages negotiation.
Merchandise is consigned to HFOC for a 45-day period; however, we have found that 65% of our inventory sells within the first month.
Within 30 days of the sale's completion, HFOC will pay the vendor via EFT. This will be the agreed net price under the contract, less any agreed costs such as transport and cleaning.
Yes. We offer professional furniture transport services through our delivery partners across all Australian capital cities and in many regional areas.
In addition, we work with trusted carriers that deliver internationally. We have shipped purchases to clients as far afield as New York, Singapore and New Zealand.
HFOC uses reputable local removal companies for pickup and delivery services.
They usually have flexible schedules and offer competitive rates. In general, the rates are approximately:
2x men and a truck are $120 per hour
1x man and a utility vehicle are $60 per hour
Any toll charges may be passed on at cost.
We require goods to be collected/delivered within 7 days of purchase.
Storage fees will accrue $50 per week per uncollected item after this period. Longer-term storage can be arranged by agreement.
Items that are priced right and are desirable sell.
If your items have not sold within the first 21 days of the contract, HFOC will discount the price of the goods for the remaining term of the contract, in consultation with the vendor.
Any items that have not sold within the 45-day period can be picked up, discounted for clearance, or sent to auction.
As we sell items on behalf of private consignors, all sales are final. We provide detailed condition reports and high-resolution photography to ensure complete transparency before purchase. We encourage buyers to review all specifications carefully—much like one would at a fine art auction.

We do not offer trade discounts because we enter into contracts with our vendors that assure them a fixed amount upon the successful sale of the item, and we are unable to accommodate tiered pricing.
