About Minotti

Alberto Minotti founded a small artisan workshop in Meda, in Brianza, north of Milan, in 1948. In the 1950s and 1960s it worked with designer Gigi Radice, whose curved sofas with brass legs and elegantly proportioned armchairs became sought-after mid-century pieces. When Alberto died in 1991, his sons Renato and Roberto took over the company.

In 1996 they established Minotti Studio, the creative hub of the company, and in 1998 they appointed Milanese architect Rodolfo Dordoni as Art Director. He led Minotti's design direction for about two decades, building a language of understatement, timeless elegance and sartorial attention to detail. Then, ahead of the 70th anniversary in 2017, the brothers invited international designers to interpret the brand: Christophe Delcourt of France, Japan's Nendo, Brazil's Marcio Kogan and the Danish-Italian duo GamFratesi.

In 2022 Italy's Ministry of Economic Development added Minotti to its Special Register of Historic Trademarks of National Interest. Today the third generation of the family runs the company, with 52 flagship stores and more than 300 authorised dealers across 80 countries.
