The company's profile expanded considerably during the 1950s and 1960s, fuelled in part by a fruitful collaboration with designer and architect Gigi Radice. Radice's playful yet sophisticated pieces—his curved sofas with brass legs, his elegantly proportioned armchairs—became some of Minotti's most coveted mid-century designs, many of which remain highly sought after by collectors today.
When Alberto passed away prematurely in 1991, his sons Renato and Roberto—who'd worked intermittently in the family business for years—took the helm with their mother Ileana's encouragement. The brothers didn't merely inherit a company; they inherited a philosophy: form and function balanced with impeccable aesthetics. Under their stewardship, Minotti transformed from a respected Italian manufacturer into a global icon.
The turning point arrived in 1996 with the establishment of Minotti Studio—the creative heart of the company, where design, engineering, prototyping, and marketing converge. Two years later, in 1998, the brothers appointed Milanese architect Rodolfo Dordoni as Art Director, a partnership that would define Minotti's modern identity. Dordoni brought something rare: both architectural rigour and interior design sensibility infused with Milanese sophistication. His coordination of Minotti's collections established a distinctive design language—what the company calls the "Minotti code"—characterised by aesthetic understatement, timeless elegance, and sartorial attention to detail.
For two decades, Dordoni helmed Minotti's creative vision with singular focus, developing complete collections that moved seamlessly between residential and hospitality spaces. His Hamilton sofas, Elliott tables, and countless other pieces became modern classics—furniture that balances industrial precision with artisanal finishing, where expert craftsmen hand-complete products assembled by cutting-edge machinery.
Then, in 2017—approaching the company's 70th anniversary—the Minotti brothers made a bold decision: invite international designers to interpret Minotti's Italian DNA through multicultural lenses. French designer Christophe Delcourt brought decorative charm and organic curves. Japanese studio Nendo introduced poetic minimalism with collections like Torii, inspired by Shinto shrine gates. Brazilian architect Marcio Kogan contributed the award-winning Quadrado outdoor collection. Danish-Italian duo GamFratesi infused Scandinavian restraint. Each collaboration enriched Minotti's vocabulary whilst maintaining that ineffable "Minotti-ness"—the brand's unmistakable aesthetic coherence.
Central to Minotti's identity is the marriage of tradition and innovation. Skilled artisans employ time-honoured Italian techniques to finish products created by modern technology—what the company describes as "the intelligence of the hands balancing industrial precision with sensitivity and emotion." This philosophy extends to materials: 97% sourced from local Italian suppliers, ensuring both quality control and the preservation of Brianza's legendary craftsmanship heritage.
In 2022, Italy's Ministry of Economic Development recognised Minotti's cultural significance by including the company in the Special Register of Historic Trademarks of National Interest—an acknowledgement reserved for brands registered for at least fifty years and historically rooted in Italian territory.
Today, the third generation—Alessio, Alessandro, Susanna, and Leonardo Minotti—ensures continuity whilst evolving the brand for contemporary markets.
