Set of SIX Case Study Shell Dowel Chairs by Modernica

The Fiberglass Shell Chair is easily one of the most important and recognizable designs of the twentieth century. They were originally designed in 1948, as an entry in The Museum of Modern Art’s International Design Competition. At the time, no one could possibly have anticipated the massive success and longevity of this iconic design. The arm shell dowel swivel rotates 360 degrees and is supported by a metal base that sits on top of the classic dowel legs. The set of SIX chairs we have on offer consists of two armchairs and four side chairs. The chairs have walnut with black wire base and a natural colour shell.
